1950-07-23 2021-07-27
Byron Roderick Lee July 23, 1950 - July 27, 2021. Byron Lee was born to Dr. Verlin and Dorothea Lee in Huntington, West Virginia. He was always interested in learning facts. When Byron was a boy, he memorized parts of Ripley's Believe It or Not which he would insert into dinner table conversation. Later he developed a passion for math and science.

He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Sociology. His first job was as a probation counselor with the Juvenile Court. He then accepted a technical writing position with Dana Corporation and then transitioned to a position as a sales trainer. Parts Associates, Incorporate of Cleveland hired him as their National Director. He coached sales skills and developed training videos in which he starred. He was the featured speaker at their annual sales conferences which inspired even the wives to attend for their humor. He is remembered as a delightful raconteur and of course, all those accumulated facts.

He married Deborah Repetsky in 1976. They have a beautiful daughter, Ariel Elizabeth, who fondly addressed him as Mr. Daddy and remembers him as a most wonderful father. He recently had the pleasure of giving her away at her wedding to Andrew Waugh and dancing the father/daughter dance. Byron and Deb enjoyed travel to National Parks, cruising the Caribbean, and various overseas trips, including the Harry Potter Bus Tour of Britain and the wonderful caves in Spain, seeing 40,000 year old cave art.

Byron loved riding motorcycles and owning vintage cycles. He had many projects, building a greenhouse, solar oven and a trebuchet which could shoot dog biscuits to the street for passing canines. He researched the possibility of UFOs visiting us. He was a man of many parts who will be dearly missed. He is survived by Deborah Lee, Ariel Lee and her husband Andrew Waugh, brother-in-law Dan Repetsky and Janet, nephew Christopher Repetsky, M.D., sister J.
