Floyd P. "Pat" Gaster, 66, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away, Sunday, January 17, 2016.
Pat was born in Findlay, Ohio to Floyd H. and the late Donna L. (Patterson) Gaster, his father survives him in Nevada, Ohio.
Pat was a 1968 graduate of Bowling Green City Schools. After graduation, Pat enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country proudly in the Vietnam War. His interest in the United States Navy led to his Navy career for over 24 years where he earned numerous honors and awards along with traveling the world. Pat was a member of the Bowling Green AMVETS Post #711 and a Life Member of the Bowling Green VFW Post #1148. Pat had many interests and hobbies in life, which included traveling, fishing, watching NASCAR and building things. Pat was an avid Ohio State Buckeye's fan and Vikings fan. Pat took great pride in helping others. He enjoyed helping his neighbors whom became lifelong friends in the trailer court he resided in. Pat had a "heart of gold" when it came to his family and friends. Pat's infectious laugh will be dearly missed by many.
Along with his father Floyd, Pat is survived by a son: Patrick Gaster, of Braham, Minnesota; siblings: Lawrence (Debbie) Gaster, of Toledo, Ohio; George (Carla) Gaster, of Ashland City, Tennessee; Nancy (Larry) Roop, of Shelby, Ohio; Lynn (Roger Hite) Gaster, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; Dennis (Lori) Gaster, of Bowling Green, Ohio; Michael Gaster, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; along with a host of nieces and nephews. Along with his mother Donna, Pat was preceded in death by a son: Justin W. Gaster. Visitation for Pat will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of his Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 22, 2016 in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W.
